Hakomi Institute of California
- Comprehensive Training – a two year course in the Hakomi method.
- Recreating the Self – this advanced technique is used to access your internal spiritual resources.
- Responding to Life – this three month course studies the formation of character, helping to understand your habitual responses to life, and to transform those aspects you no longer find useful.
Hakomi is a somatic technique based on principles of mindfulness and compassion. It is holistic, meaning that your entire being – body, soul and spirit – is worthy of attention. In this method, therapist and client work together to study your experience, working in the present moment, though we include elements from the past and the future. When therapist and client work together in this way, old problems and issues can become solutions, rather than “stuckness”.
